Role Play Media Network

a community for rpg bloggers, podcasters, vidcasters, and their audiences

So, I dunno about you guys, but I'm already ready for another Small Press Week on… whatever becomes of the RPGBN (including this). There's one company that I forgot about, which makes me feel very guilty, and another that I really want to write about. Of course, I could write these whenever I feel like it, but it can't hurt to have a little cross-linking going on.

Here's what I want to see if we do another SPW:

Better Cross-linking. I didn't link to anyone, really (except Zach on my Epic RPG interview-thingy), so I'm just as guilty of this as anyone else (except, once again Zach), but I would love if we could set up some super-intense cross-linking system before SPW actually happened.
More people participating. I realize this really isn't something we can control, but I want to see if we can get everyone participating in SPW v2.0 (listening to Wootstock 1.1, so I can't help but attach version numbers of everything v2.0).
Something filler here. Because longer lists look better than shorter lists..
Try to avoid scheduling it the same week as a huge RPG Bloggers controversy. Just sayin' ;).

So, can we do it? YES WE CAN!

Man, I can't help but feel the RPGBN blowup messed us up a little. I'd also have liked to have seen some more cross-linking (I'm doing one more summary tomorrow), but yeah, more people would be great. I think I said on my blog I could have a Small Press Month and not run out of companies.

I was thinking a Small Press Christmas Catalog would be cool. I used to do a real basic layout when I had rpgblog.org. I think Ed or Atomic Array or someone was going to do some sort of holiday gift guide; it might be cool to see.

I have always liked these sorts of things (coupon books, catalogs, and the like). You can make links to a store (RPGNow, YGN, whatever) and have coupons. HinterWelt would be in for sure! Maybe I coudl have ASMBE done and offer up a Christmas "More Nutzsszz" coupon..

Idea about that, add in some short reviews from your blogs or highlight the points you like about the games with reference to your blogs. So, like :
- For a squirrel game Squirrel Attack! is nuts! - RPGBlogII (linky)

If no one else steps forward I would be happy to help with layout and PDF generation.

I'd be all in for a Small Press Christmas Catalog type deal.

I'm in. I'll have a couple products out by then.

I was actually working on a coupon site with Phil Reed ages ago, but then he went back to work for Steve Jackson so it was abandoned. I completed the coding and have a domain for it, so if there's any interest, someone can run it. It's mostly automated.

What do you mean by this Brett? I participated with Phil on a few coupon books as well as Thele and a few others so I guess I have a kind of traditional "PDF with Links and Ads" kind of view of it all. What would such a site do?

Thanks.

It would sort of be like this, but just for coupons:

Would you be able to list sales as well? That would be a nice feature since it would allow branding like "A place for all your RPG deals!". Just a thought.

I'm not sure, since it's been a while, but I think you can list sales too.

That sounds like an awesome idea! I'm in!

For the catalog or coupon site? I like both ideas, but a Small Press Holiday Wishbook would kick some major Festivus booty.

Well, if you want to do something with the coupon site, I need to dig up the web code.
