Sad Day for Saga Edition 3 Replies

In case you missed it, Wizards announced last week that they're not renewing the Star Wars RPG and minis license, which makes The Unknown Regions the last source book we'll see for Saga Edition. Here…

Galaxy of Intrigue

I picked up  Galaxy of Intrigue over the weekend, and I've got to say ... this is one damn cool book. There are a bunch of new intrigue-centric species and a bunch of great espionage related talents…

Eureka! (My son's campaign) 4 Replies

He wants to play a Jedi...and it was so obvious, but I kept missing it: Run the campaign in a Jedi Academy! I can utterly control his environment (with an in-game rationale) until he's ready to bran…

If you had to choose just one... 6 Replies

If you had to choose just one to use in a Star Wars game, would you introduce: 1) A ruthless Gungan crime lord or 2) A Gungan Sith assassin.

I posted a Star Wars news, blog and podcast post round up at Nuketown. I've been enjoying similar roundups that folks have been doing for 4E, and I thought SWSE could use one of its own. If you have any SW-related blog posts, please post them and I'll include them in the next roundup.

Yeah, I already posted this on my blog, but anyway...I just spent the last couple of weeks rounding up the entire run of Star Wars Saga books. The only one I paid as much as COVER for was the normally marked up twice as high Knights of the Old Republic book.

I love bargain hunting sometimes.

That's what I liked about it. It doesn't restrict you. Also the comics have been a blast. I like the fact that it's not about the Yavin 4, and new heroes (Or Anti-Heroes) are getting time.

I love how the Legacy book for Saga basically begs you to treat it like a kitchen sink of Star Wars goodness.

Currently I like the Clone Wars, but reading Legacy makes me want to play in that era. Lots of stuff going on in that era, and it's open without as much cannon behind it.

I am playing around with character creation in Saga right now, and it is really just cool.

I have a ton of D6 stuff and a handful of the books for the first go around of d20. I liked the D6, but - especially with Jedi - it doesn't fit what we have now. I couldn't stand the first attempt at d20 Star Wars...but I got the Saga core in a trade and it reads VERY well. I'm planning on using it to wean my son into roleplaying games.

Thanks for creating the group! I had created one of my own, then discovered that yours already existed. Mine has now been disintegrated.

As for Star Wars, my group's been playing Saga Edition for the last year or so. While I have the rule books for several of the previous editions (one d6, two d20), Saga Edition's the first one that my group really took to. I think that's largely because it fixed the things we'd grown to dislike about D&D 3.5 (namely iterative attacks, overly complicated trip/grapple rules) but didn't take the d20 rules as far as D&D 4E did.

Didn't want Star Wars to get shuffled off into the D&D 3.5 area, and the D6 folks tend to not care for the d20 Star Wars...so here we go.
